Self-Righteousness

If the spirit of Christ is moving you towards self-righteousness and intolerance, perhaps it's not Christ that is moving you at all. Perhaps it is for your own ego and not to glorify God.

Does Jesus really want our minds to be so narrowed by his word that we lose respect for others?

When we recite The Apostles Creed, we state:

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

Note: catholic refers to the universal church and not the Roman Catholic chuch.. just in case you were wondering.

If we truly believe in the forgiveness of sins, why do we treat sinners with such indignity?

The Sounds of Silence

It has been brought to my attention that speaking of intolerance will not be tolerated so I removed my intolerance posting.

Table Manners

Friday evening, I was blindsided by sheer intolerance and the complete lack of respect for the dinner table and it's guests by one of those sitting at the table. Debate is something I always welcome, but not over dinner. The dinner table is where we eat, drink, and be merry.

The next time you consider provoking an argument and offending everyone around you, please try and wait until after dessert.
