"There's good news and bad news regarding Congressman Mark Foley. The good news is that he has entered rehab. The bad news is that Rehab is a 14-year-old boy from Pakistan."
That is pretty good. On a serious note, it'll be fascinating to see how this unfolds: who knew what, when did they know it, etc.
If this recently-resigned aide is correct in his claim that he told leadership over two years ago, then it could be a Catholic Church-style cover-up. But who knows. At this point that's all speculation.
I am getting tired, however, of any celebrity who has an embarrassing public problem checking into rehab. And it's always rehab for prescription pills or booze, two addiction problems that mainstream Americans won't freak out over, and may even draw sympathy from middle America.
Mel Gibson and the most recent Kennedy goof come immediately to mind.
Drudge is reporting that the young man in question was 18 at the time of the message exchange.
If that is the case, then this quickly turns from a creepy, old man engaging in sexual conversations with a minor to two consenting adults sharing beautiful, natural, gay-passion via Al Gore's internet invention.

That would remove any legal issues, but it's still sexual harrassment, still "scandalous," still a possible cover-up.
The gender of the page should make no difference, and neither should Foley's sexuality.
