Cardinal Mahoney and the Art of Politics

Cardinal Mahoney, leader of the nation's largest Roman Catholic archdiocese, has officially withdrawn his hands from the pants of hundreds of young boys in the southern California area and is now using those same hands to stir the political pot of illegal immigration.

The good Cardinal continues to blur the lines of legal immigration and illegals from Mexico pouring over the border into California. He even has the nerve to slap our ancestors right in the mouth with his comparison of their legal migration to the United States to those who intentionally subvert the system. Our ancestors who wanted to become American citizens and build a new life for their families are nothing more than fodder for his twisted rhetoric and political agenda. Once again, those of us who oppose the rampant siphoning of resources that it takes to support this unlawful populace are accused of harboring feeling of rascim while being completely devoid of compassion.

I find all this talk of compassion completely ironic coming from a man who has made a career of defending those who sexual exploits began in the Sunday school classrooms of their churches.
